We wanted to push the boundaries with our Winter Cider so we worked on it in a number of different ways. Aside from being a perfect chilled aperitif, we also created a delicious mulled version with Gareth to warm the cockles during the cold winter evenings. Wrap your hands around the glass, take in the aromas, feel the heat of the fire as you stretch to put the glass on the mantelpiece, and settle into a cosy evening of chatter and cheer.


  • 1 bottle 750ml orpens winter cider
  • 1 orange sliced
  • Half lime sliced
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 clove
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 small piece of ginger sliced
  • 50mls of dark rum (optional)

Garnish for glass

  • 1 Star anise
  • 1 Slice orange
  • 1 slice lime

Place the contents of the bottle into a pot and gently warm the cider with the spices, fruit and rum. Serve in a glass with a slice of orange, lime and 1 star anise to garnish , and enjoy.
